Lynch Mob Thinking

A dictionary definition of a lynch mob is, “ A group of people who condemn and punish a person without a fair trial.” This is not limited to an Old West image of a mob of rowdy cowboys throwing a rope over a tree limb to hang someone without legal process. It is done today in response to a disagreement of opinion that differs from the predominate groupthink on either side of an issue.
An unrestrained and intellectually weakened mob mentality will string people up simply because of disagreeing worldviews. A lynch mob kills the possibility of a redemptive conversation. If someone in your group hands you a rope it is a good indicator you are in the wrong group. The Spirit of God never aligns with the spirit of a lynch mob.
