I heard the
phrase “Time Horizon” used on a radio talk show as I was driving north on
Interstate 5 passing through Salem, Oregon. I made a mental note to return to
the phrase to unpack its meaning and explore why the Lord used it to gain my
attention.
Investors use
the words, “Time Horizon”, to describe a point in time for which an investment
program is completed. As an example, a long-term retirement plan has a
different time horizon (planning goal) than an investment made for a return on
a short-term goal. With a time horizon in place, a financial planner can help
you reach your goal based on their financial savvy, assessment skills, and risk
management.
After finding
out what Time Horizon meant, the Lord began to speak to me. He is about to
remind some of you that the investments you made in God’s Kingdom in the past
are now returning to your life to release the dividends of your faithfulness.
You thought it would have been a time horizon based on natural time
measurement, but God uses Heaven’s timeless freedom to process your goals and
the fulfillment of your dreams.
Some of you have actually forgotten you made these investments. They might have been a kind word, a thoughtful gesture or a season of serving when you really did not want to serve but felt compelled by the Spirit to make the sacrifice of your time and resources. None of your investments were ever lost, wasted or forgotten by God.
The rewards of
your love and faithfulness are about to arrive in your life. Some of these
rewards will be tangible, not just a warm feeling. Get ready. Heaven has
removed all time restrictions in reference to what you are about to receive.
The God you have faithfully served can turn a day into a thousand years or a
thousand years into a day. He controls the clock of time.
