There are people who have never taken the time to develop their natural intellect. The same can be true regarding our spiritual intellect. Scripture tells us that our minds must be renewed in order to comprehend the things of the Spirit and not continue to live in the ignorance that comes when we feel we possess all wisdom and all knowledge.
Some of the greatest renewing work of the Spirit can come from an opinion that opposes our most entrenched and ill-informed beliefs. The sign of a developing intellect, both natural and spiritual, is the ability to listen and process opposition and then bring that opposing position into our thinking to allow the Spirit to reveal the heart of God.
