You have said, “Just one more thing. I can carry just one more thing.” The problem with thinking you can carry just
one more thing is that at some point you will not be able to carry
anything. What you need at this time in
your life is to allow the wisdom of God, not the demands of other people or
your own need to prove you are capable to determine what you carry.
This is your permission slip to carry less into
the next season. Look it all over – everything you have felt you needed to
carry and ask yourself, “Did God ask me to carry all of this?” Some of the
items you have carried should have been set down long ago, but you felt obligated
to continue carrying them. It seems like you inherited these things, but they
are not part of your inheritance.
This could be a turning point for you – a free
and unencumbered departure into a place of freedom. Not everyone will understand or appreciate
your decision to lighten your load. It is hard to shake hands with the new
future God has planned if your hands are filled with things you are not supposed
to carry. Put it all down and only pick up
one piece at a time as directed by God.
Listen closely for His voice. At
some point He will say, “That is enough.”
