There are times when the next step forward is discovered when we simply stop and rest. We live in a culture that continually drives us to experience more and more forward motion. Constant motion is advertised as proof that we have it all together and are on a mission. There will be times that require us to take a step forward, but those times are fewer than we have been led to believe. That is one reason why an increasing number of people are experiencing false starts and deeper levels of frustration. Our next steps are discovered through a process of revelation only found when we choose to rest. This is not an inactive rest. It is a place of active listening that offers insight and direction to those who have chosen to be emotionally and spiritually motionless.
