The Sound of Our Voice

There are times when it can seem that God has more work to do in the heart of the Church than in the hearts of those we call the unredeemed. The sound of our voice in culture needs to reflect the essence of the fruit of the Spirit listed by Paul in Galatians 5 – “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” None of these listed fruits of the Spirit sound authoritative or powerful in contrast to the sounds of anger, frustration, and dishonor. Neither do they lead the programming on any of the major news outlets that have become the emotional pulpit of our culture. There are miracles and cultural transformations waiting to be released when God is able to find people whose voice can reflect the sound of Heaven on Earth.
